Discovery 3D Screensaver 1.1 build 6

Let me start by asking you a question: Did you ever want to explore the candlelit room of a medieval explorer and scholar? If you answered “Yes” to that question, then you need to take a look at the 3PlaneSoft-developed application Discovery 3D Screensaver.

When your computer goes idle and the Discovery 3D Screensaver becomes active, you will see precisely what I mentioned above – the candlelit room of a medieval scholar. The camera will move around so that you can see the scholar’s desk with a book and other things on it, the scholar’s globe, and a pocket watch that displays the actual time, and some other bits and pieces.

As the camera moves around you will hear music in the background. If you do not like the music, you can mute it while Discovery 3D Screensaver is running. You can do this by simply pressing the M key on your keyboard. Alternatively you can access the Settings window and disable the music from there. From the Settings window you can also adjust the music volume.

Installation – at the time of writing this, support is provided for Windows XP, Windows Vista and Windows 7 (32-bit and 64-bit editions). During the installation process you can choose between these languages: English, German, French and Russian.

During the installation process you are asked to install the 3Planesoft Screensaver Manager. This manager provides information about your currently installed 3PlaneSoft screensaver and about other screensaver 3PlaneSoft has to offer. The manager allows you to access the settings of all the 3PlaneSoft screensavers installed on your system. It also comes with a feature to automatically change the screensaver after a specific amount of time, or to display a different screensaver each time the computer goes idle. This manager is quite useful if you have more than one 3PlaneSoft screensaver.

Limitations – a nag screen will appear after 90 seconds when using the trial version. To get rid of this nag screen you have to purchase a license.
